Discount models for energy communities are being revised

The federal government is currently revising the discount models for energy communities with the aim of improving their economic viability and accelerating expansion. For members of citizen energy communities such as DEA, this is a relevant development, since the level of the network fee discounts directly influences how much internally shared electricity ultimately actually saves. Growing interest is also evident outside of politics: with the heating start-up building TIMES, another economic player is now founding its own energy community. This underscores that decentralized energy solutions are no longer just a niche topic for private individuals, but are increasingly becoming interesting for businesses as well. For existing and future members, it is worth taking a look at the concrete details of the amendment as soon as they are available – because that will determine how financially attractive participation in an energy community remains in the future. We are monitoring the development and will provide information as soon as concrete figures on the new discount models are established.
