Cooperatives and Energy Communities: 14,000 Mark Surpassed

Austria's energy cooperatives have reached the 14,000 mark nationwide, thereby supplying, by calculation, around 2,500 households with regionally generated electricity. This number shows how strongly the model of communal energy generation has developed in recent years – from individual pilot projects to a broad movement with a real supply effect.
For the DEA as a nationwide citizen energy community with a focus on Wien and Niederösterreich, this growth is a confirmation that regional electricity generation and sharing are practical.
Important for members and interested parties: The more participants a community has, the more stably generated electricity can be distributed over the year, and the more predictable the savings on one's own electricity bill become.
The trend also shows that joining today is no longer uncharted territory, but part of an established structure in the Austrian energy market.
